About Me

Hi I’m Laura!

I was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and spent the majority of my life living on the Kapiti Coast.

Sport has always been a huge part of my life, getting involved in many such as swimming, volleyball, running, rugby but my favorite was track and field. When I was 9 years old I joined my local Athletics club and this soon became my life. I began competing in local competitions which then lead to competing at a national level for the Wellington region. I was the top shot put and discus thrower for my age group in New Zealand (throughout my teenage years) and I was top 3 for high jumping.  I also held many records at my high school for Shot put, Javelin and high jump. These were huge achievements in my life, and something I’ll never forget!

…But once I moved to Christchurch to start my degree in Performing Arts, I said goodbye to my competing days.

During my 3 years at NASDA, I was always active doing dance classes 3-4 times a week but I fell into the party lifestyle which soon lead to me being very unfit. I soon realized how much I missed being fit and having the drive and passion I had when I was competing with athletics. After my second year at University, I ended up joining a gym and soon enough I was spending most of my free time there, absolutely in love with it! I had found my new passion.

In 2015 I decided to compete in my first bikini body building competition. I didn’t know what to expect but I loved every minute of my prep and it was amazing to see how far I could push myself over that 12 weeks. I ended up winning my category (Novice Bikini Tall) and then took out the overall bikini title. This was another massive highlight of my sporting career.

I love helping other people to reach their health and fitness goals! Seeing not only their bodies but their minds make positive changes is so rewarding and I want to continue this for as long as I can.
